Foods of China (Suzhou/Shanghai) 2013 Trip

I love to travel the world, and have been to over 20 different countries.  Every place I have been to, I live by the philosophy/saying “When in Rome, eat as the Romans do”.  Meaning why travel to a different country and not enjoy or at least try the local foods.  It is really funny when I tell people some of the things I have tried, and I variety of reactions from yum that sounds delicious to yuck I cannot believe you ate that (I guess most people are scared to try new things, and like sticking to what they think they will like).

I just returned from spending 2 weeks in China.  It was an interesting trip with my overly active/energetic 3 year old and my mellow one year old.  I have been to China many times, and every single time I find new delicacies/foods to eat.  If you know me, you know I love to eat. 

Chinese cuisine has a very high reputation worldwide and represents the magnificent culture of the nation’s almost five-thousand-year old glorious history. The country’s very varied cuisine is considered as one of the top three in the world.  This trip I stayed around the Suzhou and Shanghai area, so most of my foods focused around that region.

While I did not get the opportunity to take pictures of everything I ate, I did take pictures of a “few” things me and the family ate while in Suzhou/Shanghai.
